6th edition Test lists

For the next couple weeks I will be hard at testing and creating all types of lists. So everyday starting tomorrow I will be posting a new list until I run out of steam. First wave of them will be ally free, but from there I think my findings will allow me to figure out what allies I want

Close Combat Gone?

So I have been reading over the new rulebook, deciding how it affected the army I was about to purchase. So with the changes on vehicle hull points and snap-fire I am honestly afraid to run that army now. Yes I get the subtle boost from chain-words all around, but that is about it. So were do I go from here?

Allies...

This I know is a debated topic, but I see a conversion dream. Want rail-guns for your IG? Take Tau allies and convert some IG gundams. Eldar want to have some Dark Eldar in their army? Exoidite conversion? Create a new Aspect for what your taking? Go crazy.

So my idea to alter my list is to ally... Space Wolves

Dropping a Baal Predator and a Assault squad (Some other points here and there) will get me a Wolf Lord, a Grey Hunter squad in Razorback, and some Thunder Wolf cavalry. My idea is to sacrifice a little shooting and lessing one assault squad to be Grey Hunters (which are better then Tactical Marines for this situation. I gain another hammer melee unit, which is not on reliance of a transport.

Conversion ideas I don't know, something cool since I am going to still make them sisters of battle. I figured i'd put wolf pelts of the Grey Hunter counts as, but what cool thing could I make them ride. I was thinking giant lizards like cold ones, but there probably to small. Maybe giant steam punk steads? I don't know where i'd find those. For one that would be a painful conversion.

6th Edition timing

So when on the brink of investing in a new army list one thing not to do is buy it if the edition of the rules or codex are going to be updated soon. I had a 100+ gene stealer mass outflank list, that months later was made unplayable by the newest codex. Good thing someone bought that army from me, since they really like the paint job. With 6th edition around the corner I have to re think my list. Changes to jump-packs and vehicles make me want to reconsider my list. Descent of Angles and Sanguinary Guard Wing armies look to be a lot better which really entices me.

Also a side note, if anyone has spare Sanguinary Guard Wings I need a lot and am willing to buy or trade for them. Both armies require a lot of wings.

Sisters of Slaughter (Working Title)

Well basically I am going to be bit smashing Sisters of Battle models with Blood Angel bits I have left over from my last army. Some of the new models for the Sisters of Battle made this a lot easier, though I have no idea what I what to use as the Librarian. Canoness looks to be the obvious model to build from, but I feel something better is out there.

The new immolator will be the razorbacks, after the adding of the assault cannons. Predators and Vindicator I will use there base model. Though I was thinking of using one of my old empire cannons and replacing it with the Vindicator one. Might look cool.

Heres the list, a basic armoured push with a good amount of firepower and a strong assault force. Librarian rides with Honor Guard and two of the three Assault squads gets a priest. Though the possible change to power weapons has me rethinking some of my equipment. 

Article of the conversion work I am going to do is on the way. Hint the army is code named at the moment "Sisters of Slaughter"
